A sore due to flea allergy

by Gloria Jones

Can I make a paste of baking soda compress to put on the area, and is it safe for my cat?

RESPONSE:

You can use the baking soda for your cat. The amount is small enough that even if your cat ingested some of it, it wouldn't be harmful. However, it is dangerous for cats in large amounts such as a measuring cup full. Then it throws the cat's chemical balances out of synch.

When one of my cats has a minor sore I apply a small bit of Neosporin that seems to aid in healing.

I am hoping you get your cat's sore healed quickly.
