What do you do if a maybe starving maybe abandoned cat keeps coming to your doorstep and you don't know it x

RESPONSE:

The main thing is not to continue watching a cat starve. If you don’t know the cat and it keeps coming to your doorstep it is probably desperate for food, or with cold weather coming, a home.

Find out if the cat has an owner by asking around the neighborhood. Also ask your postal delivery person because they tend to see a lot of the residents and their animals over time. If it does not have an owner that steps forward to claim it, I see two options:

1. You can take the cat to a local shelter, preferably a no-kill humane center such as PAWS (if it is in your area).

2. You can take the cat to a vet to be checked for an diseases. If it healthy but starving, you can take it inside and give it a home.
