Our Tom cat-he is not neutered-periodically trys to "mount" my arm. He will grab my arm with his teeth-not hurting me-and tries to arrange his paws so that he is straddling it. I end the "experiment" then, but I have never had a cat to do this. I feel like he is frustrated, but he may be trying to gain dominance because this usually occurs when he wants to go outside and I will not let him. I try to keep him inside at night because he gets into fights and is already scarred up and he is only a year old.

RESPONSE:

The behavior is not unusual in a cat that hasn't been neutered. For his health and safety I suggest you consider getting him neutered. If he's only a year old and already showing battle scars, it would be the right thing to do. If he continues to fight he could pick up some nasty diseases from the cats he fights with also.
