My cat died on July 14 my other cat seemed to accept the loss though hid in the wardrobe where the deceased cat lay on the day that he died. For about three days now the cat is eating less though he is alert and using his litter box. He has gone back to hiding in the wardrobe again an has become quiet. Though he hasn't stopped eating completely he cannot afford to lose more weight. I am wondering if the grief has returned or if he was spooked by next doors cat that got into the kitchen.
RESPONSE:
Sorry to hear about the loss of your other cat. It is hard for you to have to also help deal with the other cat's grief while also feeling your own.
Here is the link to my page on grieving cats and the signs to look for. It may help give you a better understanding.
