Half tamed feral cat

by tina
(OKC)

I have an almost 2 yr old male feral cat. He won't use a litter box, but comes in willingly and usually sleeps in his bed in the house all night. He has an apt Friday to be neutered. What king of behavioral changes can I expect?

RESPONSE:

I think you will happy with the results. He will be calmer, more affectionate and laid back. He will probably still want to go outdoors and survey his territory but may stay in the home more. You can probably train him to use the litter box without too much trouble.

I think you've made a wise decision and hope it works out as it usually does.

Well it has been a week since he was neutered. He is using the litter box with the litter they used at the vet. At first he cried so much I felt bad (to go outside). Today he has been really quiet and just curls up and sleeps. I just feel like I gave him a boring life. No adventure anymore. But I am afraid to let him out again. All 3 spots on his face have healed up. He got chewed up pretty bad. Just wonder what the other guy looked like.
