kittens nuzzle

Why do kittens nuzzle each other

RESPONSE:

Until kittens get older they rely on smell more than some other senses. Even when they are older they will recognize you and others by scent but other factors come into play.

So, they nuzzle each other to develop the sense of smell at a very early age so they can tell who momma cat is and other siblings.
