ticks on stray cat

A stray cat has been hanging out by my house for about 2 months. He now comes to the door when I open it and takes a step inside, maybe to get a little warmth but is not interested in staying. He now allows me to pet him a little and he has so many ticks. Should I try to give him Front Line while he allows me to pet him?

RESPONSE:

It would be beneficial to the cat to get some Front Line or similar product onto him but you have to be cautious that he doesn't panic and injure you. I suggest having gloves on to help protect against scratches or bites.

Try this
by: joyfulsunrise

Apple Cider Vinegar ~
wet a paper towel with water and pour a bit of ACV onto the towel.Stroke gently around the collar area and down the back and tail. If you are gentle he/she will not mind.Make it a ritual by singing or speaking softly.
Secondary benefit ~ the cat will lick his body and the ACV will help to prevent urinary infections.
One of my kitties actually jumps up on the counter for me to do this. His brother will not but if he joins in the action ~ occasionally he will allow me a few strokes
Good luck ~
