Dose of bupronex for cats

by Angela
(PA)

What is the standard dosage for a cat receiving this medication for palliative reasons? My cat was ordered 0.07 ml every 12 hours but we were able to give it more frequently up to every 2 hours if needed. This medication was wonderful and helped my little jingle bells pass away peacefully at home.

RESPNSE;

The typical dosage of Buprenex varies depending on the weight of the cat as well as the type of condition it is being treated for. Dosages are usually small since its stronger than morphine. 0.005 - 0.02 mg. It is given every 6-12 hours.
