Spinal Cord Bruising Post Surgery care at Home

My 18 year old cat just had spinal surgery after we found her at home not walking on her back legs. Immediately taken to Cornell, NY Vet Hospital where they found bruising on spinal cord and blood. No mass or tumor. She was super healthy for her age and this suddenly happened. She is not moving her back legs and a long recovery is evident. We want to help her walk again. Any suggestions? Thanks

RESPONSE:

I wish I could think of something but all that comes to mind is trying to massage her back legs gently to keep the blood circulating and the muscles active. I wish I could offer more help and hope she recovers comfortably.
