white substance around teeth in cat

by Diane Wallace
(Atlanta, GA)

My feral cat has a white gelatinous looking substance around all of his teeth which looks like he is wearing a mouth guard. It's all in one piece and does not seem to cause him any pain or difficulty eating. It resembles a tooth tray like is worn and known as Invisaline in humans. He doesn't let me near him long enough for further description or a better picture.
I have taken a few pictures which I can enlarge on my i-phone. A vet lives toward the back of my house and from the pictures he can't say what it could be. He wants to see the actual cat which might not be too easy. Thank you for looking at these pictures. I don't see the other 2 pictures I sent.

RESPONSE:

I can't tell what it is either. However, taking a wild guess...it looks to me like it is a mouth guard that somehow has been pierced by the cat's teeth to now hold it in place permanently, or at least until the plastic wears down.
