Cat squinnting eye and keeping closed.

My cat is 2 years old white girl. Indoors .Never goes out. AND today she seems to be keeping eye closed alot and squinting. I tryed looking in it looks a little red. But she loves looking in purses . AND what ever I am doing and I had sparkley wrapping paper wrapping things and she kept putting her nose in the paper. Is i possible she scratched it .? Thank you Mrs. Campbell

Its entirely possible that she scratched her eye. Something that I keep on hand for minor eye irritations is Vetericyn. It is an ophthalmic gel that you just apply to your cat's eye to clean and relieve the burning or itching. Its available in most pet stores.
