shampoo and long hair cut

by WALLY

I WANT TO FIX MY CATS HAIR. HES A LONG HAIRED CAT AND IT GETS MATTED, ESPECIALLY AROUND THE REAR END. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

RESPONSE:

A daily routine of brushing your cat will help but I did have a Himalayan cat some years ago that still matted badly. I took her to a groomer a few times a year and got her a "lion cut" which just leaves hair around the neck and tail tip. This helped by having shorter hair for months at a time. Shampooing her was just too temporary.

Just a suggestion but it helped with my situation.
